There is an old woman who lives in a shoe. She is really old because she has white hair and she has wrinkles in her skin. But she is the mom and she has ten children! And she has lots of pets – a cat, a dog, a bear, a bird, and a hamster. She has to take care of them all, so when they get hungry she makes them a stew. When the car breaks down they ride a gnu. And when the furniture breaks she glues it and hammers and nails it, and when their clothes rips, she patches and mends it and sews them all some fancy little new hullabaloo clothes. Every time “she kissed them all lovingly.” The family really loves each other and the old woman really loves them. Everyone looks very happy.

This is a happy book and it is really nice to read because everyone is smiling and they are so nice to each other. The pictures are really fun and happy too and it is fun to read because it is a little poem.
