The World of Emily Winsnap: Emily’s Big Discovery is about a girl named Emily who wants to play in the water but doesn’t know how to swim yet. One day she finds out her school is offering swim lessons. She signs up only to find they were more interesting than she would ever have imagined! This book is a younger kid version of the real Emily Windsnap series by Liz Kessler. It’s still a wonderful book, though, for ages fourish to eightish who have never read or heard the original series as a read-aloud. The illustrations are not wonderful or gorgeous or anything, they just sort of describe what’s happening. It’s not as well written as the other books, so it’s not really for older kids.
