The Wish Tree
There is a boy named Charles who wants to find a wish tree. His sister and his brother say there is no such thing, but Charles takes his sled, Boggan, with him and sets off to find one. He goes deep, deep, deep into the woods, and he meets a lot of animals that he helps. He helps a squirrel carry nuts, a beaver carry wood, and a fox carry berries. He helps an owl, a deer, mice, and birds, and the day gets later and later. Finally he is so tired he falls asleep. Will he ever find a wish tree? And if he does, what wish will he make?
This book is interesting and very fun. I love the pictures and seeing how the boy and his sled help all the animals – he even helps the bears by being quiet while he walks past them. This story happens in the snow, so everything looks cold, but the boy and the animals are happy. My favorite picture shows Charles pulling things for everyone. This is a good book to read while you are snuggling with your mama.
