The Whale, the Sea and the Stars
The Whale, the Sea and the Stars is about a young whale named Gerda. Her mom sings her a song. When Gerda’s brother is old enough, he leaves to find his own place. Then, when Gerda is old enough, she has to go find her own place. When she goes on her adventures, Gerda meets penguins splashing off an iceberg, a grouchy octopus, orcas, and a wise narwal. The wise narwal tells Gerda to follow her heart and she will find where she belongs. Gerda follows her heart to a beautiful starlight bay where she meets her brother.
I loved reading The Whale, the Sea and the Stars because it is so good. I liked how the illustrator drew plants on Gerda, like birthmarks. When mama sings her song, there is a bunch of constellations, and I really like how the other animals are drawn. I would recommend The Whale, the Sea and the Stars as a bedtime story for little kids. This book would also be good for kids who like whales, adventures, and surprises.
