The Way to School

Going to school is not always as easy as it looks. Some kids are so poor they cannot even go. Sometimes schools get destroyed by natural events. Of those who go, while some kids walk, ride or take the school bus, for others it is very difficult to get there. Some have to walk, float or paddle across rivers. Some have to fly across, using zip-lines. Some kids need to walk a pathway around a mountain or go through tunnels. Some have to get up on long ladders in order to climb mountains. Some kids ride donkeys, buffaloes, or on dog sleds. Some need to carry their own water or desks all the way to school. Some kids walk or climb across very dangerous bridges.
The road to school can be very hard, but it is always worth it, because the most important thing is to get there.

I enjoyed this book! I thought about how easy it is for me to get to my school, which I love so much. I would not want to do some of the things that those kids in the pictures need to do to get to school, but some others seemed adventurous and fun. I’d like to walk to school with my friends, and climb with them, like I saw those kids do.
