The Walk On

This book is about a boy named Alex Myers who just moved in town from Boston to Philadelphia. He is the new kid but he is also a triple threat, which is the name of this new series as well. Alex is great at football, basketball, and baseball. I am only 9 years old, but I also like to play multiple sports just like Alex. My next door neighbor, James Rogers is a triple threat and he is a senior in high school. James is my idol and he reminds me a lot of the character Alex in the book. This book reminded me of the book First Team by Tim Green that I just finished reading. I read this book with my mom and she had to explain some of the topics that I didn’t know much about before like steroids. I think this book might be too much for some 9 year olds but more appropriate for ages 11 and up. I would recommend this book to my friends and I am very excited about the next book in the trilogy about Alex’s basketball career. Baseball is my favorite sport, so by the time I am 11 years old I am sure the last book in the trilogy about baseball will be out.
