The Very Cold, Freezing, No-numbers Day

This book is really fun! The numbers call for help, because the snow is covering them all up, and soon there will be no numbers, no counting, no days in the calendar, no birthdays. They need someone to help them warm up. Counting helps already, so their color turns from purple and blue to green, with leaves and grass. More counting makes them turn warm yellow, with all sorts of sprouting going on; tracing them with the finger turns them into tiger-striped and orange. Counting, tracing and blowing warm air on them all together makes them heat up really fast, and they turn bright red.

It’s all done and they are hot and happy! No more freezing, no-numbers day! That was very close, and now everybody is happy! Hooray!

I loved this book! I had fun reading the noise-making words, they were simple for me to read aloud. I also liked blowing air on the pages and counting. Not so much tracing… but seeing the colors change quickly made me want to help more and more and I giggled a lot while I was doing it.
