The Unspeakable Unknown
This is the second book in a series, so if you haven’t read the first one, you may feel like you are missing some things. Eventually you will learn everything you need to know, although not right at the start, but as you go along, which is kind of confusing. In this book, Nikola attends a school where some weird humanoid alien beings, called Parahumans, are also taught. After Nikola defeats an alien creature called an evil Old One, who turns out to be her teacher in disguise, she and her friends go on a field trip to find a real life Old One, who they think is hiding in the woods. When they find the Old One, they discover that it isn’t really evil, so they let it escape. But other Old Ones have their evil reputation for a reason.
This book keeps your attention and keeps you engaged, although it is not one of my favorites; I think you should read the first book before this one to really enjoy it. But there are some very funny parts, and it leaves with a cliffhanger ending of sorts, so I definitely will want to read the next in the series when it comes out.
