The Truth About Dragons
I love the first lines in this book: “The stories about dragons are true. Yes, they are. But there’s something funny, it’s that their socks don’t always match.” I think it’s really funny. I mean, why do dragons wear socks??!!
I also enjoyed that there’s a picture where all these dragons are in a cafeteria. It’s so funny! And there are Cheez-its.
I love the girl who believes in dragons in the book because she’s a good narrator and she’s funny and fearless, like my sister (sometimes!). And sometimes my sister is the dragon. I love the pictures in the book and I wish I saw dragons everywhere like the girl does. Her classmates become dragons, but she can see that they aren’t always so fearsome. Sometimes you have to look beneath to see what’s there.
A beautiful book that’s fun to read together. I really enjoyed The Truth About Dragons by Jaime Zollars. And I really laughed about the socks!
