The Trouble with Destiny

Even though the characters in The Trouble with Destiny are my age, I felt like I was reading about a crowd much younger than me. It made it hard to enjoy the story because they felt immature for their age. Liza was annoying, at times rude, and I couldn’t connect with her if I tried. The story was boring and way too cheesy to even take seriously. I felt like I was watching a mash-up of a lifetime movie set in a Disney channel world. The romance aspect of the book could have been handled better but it was just too messy for my taste. Our romantic leads weren’t all that and a bag of potato chips either, why did Liza like them again?

I’ve liked Morrill’s books in the past but this one missed the mark by being too predictable, with unlikable characters. I’m hoping that whatever she writes next will be a step up from what I’ve just read.

Overall, I didn’t like this and can’t recommend to anyone. If you’re okay with a cheesy story line and love triangles, pick this one up!
