In The Tiger Who Would Be King, a tiger wakes up one morning and decides that he will be king of beasts, instead of the lion. The tiger is certain that all the other animals support this change. His mate patiently listens to his dreams of being king, and how the moon will be yellow, with black stripes, in his honor. She secretly thinks his plan is silly, and that the tiger has a very active imagination!

When the tiger challenges the lion as to who is actually king of beasts, the lion roars and runs out of his cave to fight with the tiger. Soon, all the animals join in the fight. Some are on the side of the tiger, while others are on the side of the lion.

I like the pictures in this book because they are colorful and unique. The animals are very fierce, especially the lion! The zebra is also ferocious; it is my favorite! The story itself is quite morbid, which I enjoy as long as the pictures are not too scary.
