The Streak: How Joe DiMaggio Became America’s Hero
If you love baseball or true life stories this book is for you. It has it all, from the stats, famous headlines and quotes to the real life biography and authors note included at the end. This story tells the true story of how Joe DiMaggio became America’s hero during a devastating time in history and had the longest hitting streak in baseball history. It all started with a single hit to left field on May, 15, 1941. The hits kept coming and coming, game after game. Betsy Ann was Joe DiMaggio’s bat, she was almost as important as Joe himself. At one game she went missing and Joe was nervous he may not be able to keep the streak alive without her. I loved this book because I love baseball and love reading about my baseball heroes. My favorite part is when Joe DiMaggio started his hitting streak because that first hit is what started it all. I would recommend this book to all my friends and their Dads.
