This is the story of a grumpy bear and a happy rabbit who become friends. Bear is in a bad mood, so the rabbit wants to do something to cheer Bear up. The rabbit builds a snow rabbit in bear’s yard. At first Bear is very angry. But the rabbit teaches the bear that he doesn’t have to frighten away the other animals. The bear has more fun when he shares his yard with the others. The bear changes the sign in his yard from “Only Bears Allowed” to “Everyone Welcome.” At the beginning a bird perched on the sign looked scared, but at the end the bird looks happy.

When you are grumpy or sad, friends will make you feel better. When I have a friend come over, I feel better right away. So, it teaches you not to keep things only for yourself. You will make friends when you share with them. This picture book is for children that like being read to because there are lots of pictures. The pictures are nice. There are a lot of scarves and hats, so it puts you in the mood for winter.
