The Slug (Disgusting Creatures)
This book is about land slugs. I liked it. He doesn’t look disgusting, except for his little tentacles. He has four. They are for seeing and smelling. He can pull his eyes in. (He looks cute.) He breathes with a hole in him. His body is a big, curved blob called a foot. They don’t have hair or shells. (What’s a mollusk? My daddy says it has no backbone.) When they have to protect themselves, they make more slime. (Kind of gross.) Slugs are a boy and a girl. They find other slugs by following slug trails. They like to eat lettuce. I wish there was more information in this book. I’d like to know if he has another hole on the other side. None of the “disgusting creatures” are disgusting. I would not like a slug as a pet.
It’s not too hard to read this book. People who like slugs will like this book. Nature lovers would be interested in slugs. This book was more interesting than the rat book and the worm book.
