Minerva is a relatable character (with her personality, not by being a pygmy shrew); however, I enjoyed learning more about pygmy shrews, an animal I didn’t know much about before – they are interesting! The mystery had me guessing until the end; the way Minerva handled it seemed accurate and well done. I enjoyed the sprinkling of new words with their definitions; with this and the mystery, I feel extra smart now! Middle-grade readers will get the most enjoyment and understanding from the story and characters.
