The Shadow Prince (Shadow Prince, 1)

Ash has been preparing all his life for this moment, he has fought fake demons, trained in martial arts, and learned how to read hieroglyphs. All in preparation to be the prince’s shadow. But he is still one of many candidates, who must pass a test. He’ll have to face demons, and complete tasks assigned by the gods. Not all of the candite survive testing as suggested by this quote, “‘Though you are all here for the same reason, tomorrow you’ll each meet a different fate’” All while trying to survive set’s evil ploy to drag the world into chaos. If he doesn’t succeed in becoming the next shadow guard, Egypt will fall to the forces of evil.

This book series is a wonderful read if you like Egyptian mythology, mythology, and enticing world-building. This book reminds me of Kane Chronicles and I recommend this book if you enjoyed that one. I would say that ages ten thru thirteen would enjoy reading this. But, older kids could read it it would just be easy although that wouldn’t take away from the story.
