The Secret World of Walter Anderson
The Secret World of Walter Anderson is a book about Walter Anderson who painted water colors. The main character in this book was a naturalist and he painted life at the seashore. “There once was a man whose love of nature was as wide as the world. There once was an artist who needed to paint as much as he needed to breathe.” I thought the illustrations in this book were very pretty and lifelike. I was surprised a little when I read about all the paintings in Walter’s room. My favorite part was when Walter rowed back to the seashore and birds flew beside him. I liked the part that said, “Sometimes he got animals to come closer by feeding them like pets.” The art work makes this book very special. I really like everything about this book. I think that the kind of reader who would like this book would probably be someone a little older than me, maybe nine or ten years old. I also think people who like artists and nature will want to read this book.
