The Secret of Dreadwillow Carse
There was once a princess named Jeniah, whose mother was about to perish. Jeniah desired to learn how to rule well by viewing the kingdom, and, in the course of her observations, befriended a country girl name Aon, who was convinced that a mysterious swamp named Dread Willow Carse could make her happy. Later Jeniah asked Aon to explore the swamp for her, Aon goes missing; now, despite the warnings of the terrible danger that lurks within, Jeniah will venture into the Carse to save her friend.
I like this book because it is exciting and because it is about the bond between friends and the love that binds families together. The characters are interesting in the way that they develop in their determination and fellowship, and I particularly enjoyed the manner in which the world and the characters’ personalities were revealed through their endeavor of discovery in the swamp. Parts of it are a little scary, so be warned! I would recommend this book to those who enjoy rotating character perspectives in fantasy and to those who enjoy a good shiver.
