The School for Good and Evil #6: One True King
In the sixth book in Soman Chainani’s well-known book series, The School For Good and Evil #6: One True King, we find all our favorite students and Tedros in an incredibly suspenseful and intriguing story that leads them into twists, turns, and secrets that put us on the edge of our seats.
Agatha, Sophie, and Tedros are all in tough spots. Aggie and Teddy (as Sophie calls them) are hiding from “King Rhian.” Sophie has been brainwashed into marrying Japeth, who killed his brother and impersonates him to gain the kingdoms’ trust and become the one true king. As Sophie slowly comes back to her senses, Tedros and Agatha look for a way to win Arthur‘s tournament and take back the throne. As they progress in the Tournament they learn many things. As Japeth said himself, he is not Arthur’s rightful heir, and soon they find out neither is Tedros.
This story proves there’s a lot more than just black and white. Sophie and Agatha’s tale went off the rails, almost leading to the Storians own demise. This tale is an amazing mixed world, combining many fantastical stories into one. I found this book the most suspenseful and exciting of the series. I recommend it for children eight and older. If you’re not in that range yet (I hope you are), it’s worth the wait.
