It was about Rosalind Franklin, who was born in Britain between World War I and II. She became a scientist and one of the pioneers in X-ray technology. She captured the first image of DNA’s double helix structure. Most people nowadays would think that would be big news, but the information didn’t come out until later. Her finding was largely dismissed by her male colleagues, who later won a Nobel Prize for the work that she pioneered. She would not live to see the impact that her discovery had on science.

I liked this book because Rosalind is a fascinating woman of science. And I like science books. It kept me reading, and I learned a lot about DNA and Rosalind’s life. It seems like a biography is boring, but this was written really well. I read a lot of historical fiction, and I’m surprised that I’ve never heard of Rosalind before!
