The Puddle Club
Nine-year-old Skyler was just going about her normal day and eating her breakfast when she notices a puddle in her backyard. She went to investigate this strange puddle and ended up falling in. This was a special puddle, and it transported her to another land. In this new golf land, she met Ralphie, who is a talking gopher. Ralphie introduces Skyler to some of the other characters in “the puddle club.” There is someone to help her get the right clothes for golfing, other gophers whose job it was to find missing golf balls, and someone who makes the specific golf rules. Skyler has to play golf and get a perfect game in order to get home–will she be able to?
This was an interesting book about a topic that I wasn’t very familiar with, golf. The character of Skyler was very relatable and seemed like someone I would like to be friends with. This book was a good mix between the feelings of the main character and information about the game of golf. This was a unique read.
