The Prince and Betty is about a man, John Maude, who finds out that he is the prince of the small island, Mervo. An American business man builds a casino on the island and finds out that John is the prince and heir to Mervo. He brings him to the island as a figurehead for the casino. He also brings his stepdaughter, Betty, to the island in hopes that John will marry her. Betty runs away because she doesn’t like John working with the casino. Over time, Betty and John try reconcile their differences.

I didn’t like this book as much as other books that I’ve read. I found it more confusing with all the romance involved. I’m not old enough to understand all that stuff yet; I think that was the problem. It was a laborious and tedious read. The only thing that I liked was the cool landmarks in London that were mentioned. Maybe I’ll like more of the romance stuff when I’m older. And, I liked that the book at least ended happily.
