The Pomegranate Witch
The Pomegranate Witch is a beautiful picture book that tells a funny Halloween story for kids five and up.
At the edge of a village stands a spooky old house with a large pomegranate tree. All the kids in the village are tempted to go there and pick the red, ripe fruits. But the pomegranate witch always seems to ruin their plans, and hardly any kids succeed. Until a group of kids comes up with a wicked plan of their own. At the end of the story the witch seems to leave and this sweet old lady, the witch’s sister, now lives at the house….
This is a fun story about mischievous kids and a little, wicked witch on Halloween written in lovely verses and rhymes.
Even though I am probably a bit older than most kids that would read this book, I still really enjoyed it. I thought the pictures were bright and added a lot to the storyline. This would be such a fun read-aloud during the fall and the time of Halloween!!
