The Plan

The Plan is about a little girl who has a dream of flying in her airplane with her dog, and travelling to Saturn. When she is hanging laundry, a key falls out of a pocket, and she goes looking to see what it fits. Her and her dog find her dad’s memory album. The album is filled with old pictures of parents, and even her as a baby. The girl decides to show her dad her plan for flying, and it makes him remember the past. For the girl’s birthday, he gives her a pilot’s pin, and they decide to get the old airplane working again. The girl, her dad and the dog get to fly the airplane.

When I first opened The Plan, I wasn’t sure how it would be, because there are not many words. There is actually only one word at a time on the pages. But it is a very good story that is told mostly through the colorful illustrations. The Plan made me sad to think the little girl didn’t have a mom anymore. But I was glad that the girl got to follow her and her mom’s dream of flying.
