The Ordinary Adventures of Hannah Alexander
A hole appears in Hannah’s backyard so deep that she can’t see the bottom. When her grandma mysteriously disappears into it, she climbs down with two friends and discovers that it’s a tunnel to a magical world called Roon. She befriends a giant cat, meets a dragon librarian, and escapes from an evil queen while she’s there. But can she save her grandma?
It takes a few chapters to get going, but once it does, it’s really exciting. There’s a lot of danger and a lot of action. It is startling when a giant shows up in Hannah’s bedroom because it is the first really exciting part. After that, it’s action-packed. There are a lot of confusing and mysterious things in the story. For example, Hannah finds a strange girl living under a mountain who says she is the mountain. These things are not explained, but they make the story more interesting. Little kids may lose interest because it takes a while to get exciting, but I really like it and I think it’s worth it. If you like stories that are magical, mysterious, and full of action, you need this book!
