The Opposite Zoo
The opposite zoo is a particular type of zoo built so that each animal has its opposite next to itself.
When it gets dark, the doors are locked but the monkey cage opens up and you can explore and see the animals, and notice that that everything and everyone has a pretty interesting opposite.
The opposite zoo has an awake owl and a sleepy panda. A long giraffe and a short pig. A bald hippo and a hairy lion. A tiger with a soft fur and a prickly porcupine. Black seals and white swans. A slow sloth and a fast jaguar. A shy mouse and a bold peacock, with its beautiful, colorful tail. And then noisy (very noisy!) monkeys and quiet turtles.
When the sun is up, the monkey cage gets locked… and everyone is back to their cage. The doors are open to the regular public, to visit the opposite zoo.
This book was okay, not too exciting, but not bad. I like playing opposites, so that was interesting. The pictures (more like drawings, really) were also fascinating.
