The Most Wonderful Thing in The World
The king and queen of the city have a beautiful daughter named Lucia, but she needs a husband. So they come up with a plan that whoever brings them the most wonderful thing in the world will get to marry their daughter. They send Lucia away to explore the city, and on her way she finds a young man who agrees to show her the city. Every day there is less and less to explore, and one day there is only one place left, which is his island. But he is sad because he found out that Lucia was the princess and he thought he could never marry a princess. So he asked his grandfather what he could do, and his grandfather told him to show her parents the most wonderful thing in the world.
I like this book because it has beautiful illustrations that look like they are from a different time and the story is fun to read over and over again. The most wonderful thing in the world was not what I expected, but I liked how this story ended anyway. It is like a fairy tale that doesn’t have any magic.
