The Matchstick Castle
I think that The Matchstick Castle is a good book. It is about a boy named Brian. He has to spend the summer in Boring, Illinois (yes, that’s the actual name of the city) with his Uncle Gary, Aunt Jenny, and his cousin Nora. Unfortunately, like the name of the city they live in, they are all boring. Uncle Gary is forcing Brian to do an online summer school program called “Summer’s Cool,” which Brian hates. He thinks that he is going to have the worst and most boring summer ever…or IS HE? One day, he finds the Matchstick Castle and meets a boy named Cosmo. Then his summer turns out to not be so boring after all. I liked this book because it was very adventurous. I like how the Castle is so confusing. It made me want to keep reading to see what happens next. I also like the character Cosmo. He was adventurous and very brave. Overall, it was a good book and I recommend it for ages nine to thirteen.
