The Mark of the Dragonfly
Piper is a machinist, who feeds herself by fixing machines people bring to her from meteor showers. One day, out in a meteor storm, Piper finds a girl in a caravan. The girl, Anna, is marked with the Mark of the Dragonfly, which means she is under King Aron’s protection. Piper knows that if she can get Anna back to King Aron, she’ll get an enormous reward and won’t have to be poor anymore. When Piper realizes that a man is chasing her so he can get Anna back, she boards the 401, a train that delivers cargo to her scraptown and is protected by many things from raiders. Inside the train, Piper is chased by a boy with strange eyes, whose name is Gee. Once she boards the train she also realizes she has to get Anna to Noveen. Will Piper make it there, and will she get the reward she thinks she might? Read The Mark of the Dragonfly to find out.
I like this book because it was very tense and exciting. My favorite part was when Piper is escaping with Anna. I am glad that in the end, they become friends, because they are really a lot alike in a lot of ways.
