Angus McFangus is a lightning cub, a Lightning Catcher in training. Lightning catchers keep bad weather from happening around the world to keep people safe. But, someone called Scabius Dankhart and his Monsoon Mongrels are trying to make bad weather to control the world. Angus’ parents have been captured, but Angus is secretly a storm prophet, which means he has a fire dragon which can control the weather. Somehow, Angus needs to train his dragon, which no one else can see, and rescue his parents, before Dankhart takes over the world.

The book was very exciting and fun to read, because there was a lot of action and suspense. He has a good relationship with his friends, who help him where he isn’t strong, like they help him find things out and discover there is a traitor in their school, which they never expected. I could understand the back story without having read the other books in this series, but it doesn’t have a very satisfying ending, because it doesn’t really explain anything in the end. I’m sure that is because there will be another book, and I hope there is, because Angus still has a lot left to fix.
