Rose Rita’s adventures with Mrs. Zimmerman continue in this sequel to The House with a Clock in Its Walls. Thirteen-year-old Rose Rita is a sporty girl. Her best friend Lewis is a pudgy book-worm. Lewis is going away to Boy Scout camp for the summer and leaving Rose Rita with nothing to do. Luckily her friend Mrs. Zimmerman got a strange letter from her strange – and now deceased – cousin Oley. The letter mentions a magic ring hidden on his farm. Mrs. Zimmerman thinks Oley just made it up. Is the ring really magic? Does it even exist? To find out, Rose Rita and Mrs. Zimmerman will drive around the upper peninsula of Michigan for a summer’s adventure.

I read this book fast because it’s so fun and exciting. Rose Rita is brave and smart. She’s like a real person – definitely not perfect! You really care about what happens to her and her friends. They have to make difficult decisions, but you hope that there is going to be a happy ending. And there is another book coming out next in the series, so you can keep reading about Rose Rita and Lewis.
