The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett

I can’t begin to tell you how disappointed and let down I am after reading The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett. The blurb makes it sound like an amazing read for a YA mystery, but what we get instead is a depressing book with a main character who’s annoying, weird, inconsiderate, and acts way younger than her age. Her obsession with a girl she barely said a few words to was unhealthy. The pages are filled with nonsense and Lizzie’s thoughts every other sentence. Boring and ridiculous. The only saving grace for me was the end when we find out the “mystery.” If we would have stuck to that instead of idiotic theories and a dumb heroine, the story could have been much better than it was. I don’t recommend this book in the slightest. This isn’t a mystery; it’s about a sad lonely girl wanting something interesting to happen in her very boring life.
