A girl baked a gingerbread man for her lunch, but when she nibbled on his thumb, he jumped up and ran away. He started eating the world because he didn’t want to be eaten. He wanted to get bigger so she couldn’t eat him. Finally the girl stopped him and told him she would be his friend and promised to not eat him. So then they went home and baked cookies for all the people that the gingerbread man took things from, and then they were friends.

The book is nice and fun because the gingerbread man and the girl get to be friends at the end. I really like the pictures because they are all about the city of San Francisco, so you get to see what it would be like to go visit there, and at the end you can read a little bit about some of the places where the gingerbread man runs through. The story is told like a poem and it is really funny, too. Children will like this new story about a gingerbread man because it is a lot of fun!
