This is a story about a little boy named Roch. Roch lives in Canada where the winters are long and cold. Roch spends his winters in school, in church or at the outside hockey rink. All the boys loved to pretend they were the famous hockey legend Maurice Richard. They all wore the #9 just like Maurice Richard. Roch even had a sweater to match Maurice Richard. I am not a huge hockey fan, but this book makes me interested in putting on some hockey skates and gathering some friends for some ice hockey on our frozen lakes. I think it is interesting that the author wrote the story about himself. My favorite part is when Roch is very upset about his new hockey sweater and goes to church to say some prayers to God. I love that he goes to God to pray when he is upset but also I think it is pretty funny what he prays for. I loved that this is a true story and I can picture everything that happened. I also really enjoyed all the quotes, pictures, and extra tidbits at the end of the story.
