The Gumazing Gum Girl!, Book 3 Popped Star
The Gumazing Gum Girl! Popped Star by Rhode Montijo with Luke Reynolds is the third book in The Gumazing Gum Girl series. In this story, Gabby Gomez has a cavity. She tried telling her dad that she is Gum Girl, but her dad didn’t quite understand what she was saying. Gabby’s brother, Rico, is a big fan of Gum Girl and so is Natalie Gooch (the school bully). Ninja-Rina came along, and a camera crew started recording her saving the day. Ninja-Rina’s mother wanted to win lots of trophies and prizes, so her mother made the crew record Ninja-Rina. Gum Girl and Ninja-Rina were both heroes. They both fought for the golden key to the city. They both tugged for it, and then the key flew over and got stuck in the ferris wheel. They both worked together to save the people in the ferris wheel, including Gabby’s family who was stuck on the ferris wheel. Gabby told her family that she is Gum Girl. In school, Gabby wrote an essay about what it means to be a hero and how it doesn’t matter if you have super powers to be a hero. I really liked the story. I liked Popped Star better than the first and second book. It was a little different because Ninja-Rina was a good guy, then a bad guy, then a good guy again. The story makes me want to be a superhero. It doesn’t matter if I don’t have any superpowers. Anyone can be a superhero even though you don’t have superpowers. You can do something to save the world.
