“How will you help him?” “By breaking into places…”

The Girl Who Stole an Elephant, is such a great book to read. I loved it so much, and couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. The book is about a girl named Chaya, who steals from the rich, to help the poor. One day, Chaya makes the biggest robbery: stealing jewels from the Queen. The King and his guards mistake the thief for Chaya’s best friend, Neelan, and she has to save him before the King ends his life.

The best part of the book is definitely the change in the characters. Chaya really changes her personality and how she sees things throughout the book, and that helps with the storyline and plot. One thing about the book that I didn’t like was the beginning. It started with lots of action, lots of words, and was just a lot to take in for just the start. After you pass the 4th chapter, you start to ease in and really get to know what the book is about.

The Girl Who Stole an Elephant is a huge recommendation, and you should read it when you have the chance. It is for ages nine through fourteen and for people that like mystery and friendship books.
