The Gift of Sunderland: An Australian Fantasy Adventure
The Gift of Sunderland: An Australian Fantasy Adventure is a book about the goings-on of a forest in Australia. In this book, one of the main characters is a numbat named Waylond. He is chosen as the Guardian, the protector of all the creatures in the forest. Morlund, Waylond’s brother who is angry that he wasn’t chosen to be the Guardian, stole the source of forest magic and prevents Waylond from becoming the Guardian. Through a series of adventures, Waylond meets and makes unlikely friends. Together, they take back the source of forest magic and defeat Morlund. I liked how the story flowed and didn’t focus on specific details too much. I also liked how it was told from the perspectives of the different characters in the story. My favorite parts of the story are the action scenes because they are suspenseful and make you feel like you are part of the skirmish. The only thing I would change about this book is I would rather have it be a hardback instead of an ebook. It was an exciting story that I didn’t want to put down.
