In The Genius Files: License to Thrill, by Dan Gutman, Coke and Pepsi McDonald continue their trip across the USA. They get attacked many times by the Bowler dudes and Herman Warsaw. They also meet a new enemy, John Pain. They finally arrived at a hotel, and go outside to play table tennis. While playing table tennis, the craziest thing happened. The twins got abducted by aliens!

The aliens were named Moe, Larry, and Curly. They kept saying weird things, and the twins finally figured out how to translate it. The aliens made the twins fall asleep and they analyzed their brains! Humans can’t analyze brains yet, because we don’t have the technology for that, but aliens do. They soon understood each other, and the aliens took the twins to the moon! They wanted them to pick up golf balls from one of the first people on the moon. When they did that, the aliens took them back to Earth. They had apparently only been gone for a couple hours!

They kept traveling, and people kept trying to kill them. Someone tried to kill them in the Hoover Dam. The person trapped them in the water tunnels, with the turbines!

Towards the middle of the book, they find Mrs. Higgins. She was their teacher from school who tried to kill them by burning up the school. She said that she had changed, she used to love Herman Warsaw, but when she found out that he was insane, she apparently changed her mind.

Later, when they were going to Death Valley, their Ferrari broke down! They were stuck in Death Valley (It’s called Death Valley because of the extreme heat) for almost a full day. Mrs. McDonald almost died! Then someone came, and guess who it was? Yes, it was Mrs. Higgins! She saved them and took them to San Francisco. But they didn’t make it to San Francisco. They had gotten many cyphers along the way. They all didn’t make sense, but when their mom started reading about the Golden Gate Bridge, everything suddenly made sense. They had known that Herman Warsaw had supposedly built a briefcase bomb, and they think they know where he plans to detonate it. They found out that they were right when they got to the bridge. Traffic was stopped because Herman was standing on top of the bridge, holding the briefcase. Coke managed to convince the cops to let him climb up there, and he tried to stop Herman. Now, their parents believed everything that they had told them. They might have made it back home, but will they die on their home bridge?

Read The Genius Files: License to Thrill, by: Dan Gutman, to find out! I give this book a 4 and a half star out of 5 rating. I liked how the author added pictures and map instructions into the book. With the map instructions, you can follow the McDonald’s path. I recommend this book to people ages 10 and up. If you like books that have action, or books that have very unexpected things in it, then this is the book for you!
