Lori has new changes to accept now that she is starting middle school. Not only are Lori’s friends on a team without her, but Lori’s own mom has signed up to be one of her coaches. Worst yet, Lori is losing focus during her games—now her family thinks coming to her games is a waste of time. Will Lori regain her confidence despite all the big changes in her life?

First of all, I thought this book was better than the first. It had a lot more story, and I really liked the cut scenes of Lori’s mom back when she was in middle school. I didn’t expect the ending, and I like how the two perspectives blended together. I didn’t really enjoy the art style, I just thought some of the expressions looked weird. I do like how the poses are drawn, though. Recommended for sporty girls looking for a relatable book.
