The Epic Adventures of Odysseus: An Interactive Mythological Adventure
The Epic Adventures of Odysseus: An Interactive Mythological Adventure is a You Choose book, which means the reader decides which adventure the hero of the story goes on next.
The main character in this story is Odysseus. He and his men defeat the Trojans and set sail for Ithaca, which is home. A big storm hits and many of their supplies are washed away. The men end up on an island with a cyclops!
The reader has to make forty choices throughout the book, with seventeen possible endings. It’s like reading a new story every time! However, this book is also gory, so young readers beware! My favorite part of the story includes Scylla and Charybdis. Scylla is a monster with six doglike heads, who eats many of the men, and Charybdis lives at the bottom of a whirlpool that sucks Odysseus’s ship to the bottom of the ocean. It was exciting and a little bit scary!
The pictures in this book are great because they look real. I love getting to pretend to be a hero out of Greek mythology. This was an amazing, fun story and a great introduction to mythology!
