The Duchess and Guy: A Rescue-to-Royalty Puppy Love Story
The Dutchess and Guy: A Rescue-to-Royalty Puppy Love Story is the true story of a beagle named Guy, who was adopted by Meghan. When Meghan fell in love with Prince Harry, Guy got to move to the palace in England and become a royal puppy. Guy was nervous. He fell in front of the Queen, made messes, and just couldn’t fit in. Meghan made Guy feel better and that he would always be her special dog.
I was really excited to review The Dutchess and Guy:A Rescue-to-Royalty Puppy Love Story because it is a true story, and I really like animals. We foster rescue cats, so I liked that Guy was also a rescue dog. I really like the back of the book, where it showed the photographs of the real Guy, and the story how he was adopted by Meghan. I liked that the illustrations were silly, like Guy covering children’s room full of muddy footprints. My favorite part is when Guy is imagining what it would be like at the palace in England, and he imagines servants bringing him different plates of food, including a sock. I am eight years old and I could read some of this book alone, but there were a few hard words that I needed help with.
