The Dreidel that Wouldn’t Spin: A Toyshop Tale of Hanukkah

A peddler brought a dreidel to a shopkeeper. It was beautiful, but no one wanted it except for the boy who had black hair who wasn’t greedy. It didn’t work for the other children because they were greedy and rude. I didn’t like the part where the children were shouting and rude. But the dreidel worked for the nice boy. The shopkeeper learned that he could be nice.

This book is fun and it doesn’t have swear words. The cover of the book is pretty and makes you want to read what’s inside. It is the toyshop; it shows a bunch of toys and the dreidel that was broken. You can learn about a dreidel and about Hanukkah, which was when a miracle happened. A miracle happened in this story too – that is my favorite part of the story. When the children are rude, the toys in the pictures are unhappy, but when the boy is nice, the toys are happy too. I will read this story again tomorrow; it is so fun to read. Other children will like to read it too!
