The Dessert Diaries: For Emme, Baked With Love

This book is about a girl named Emme who opens a bakery. The story is all about how she has some friends who help her with opening and running the bakery. She always dreamed of running her own bakery, and she finally gets that chance in this story. Besides Emme, some of the other characters in this book are Babs, Dina, and Trish. These are Emme’s friends. While she is working at the bakery, Emme enters and wins a contest to see who can make the best cake. She was so excited to win! One of the things I liked best about this story was a poem that Emme wrote. I won’t copy the whole thing, but the first line reads, “Happy Anniversary time is here; You are both so very dear.” One of the things in this story I didn’t really care for was when Emme did her revised poem because the last line didn’t rhyme! I myself prefer for poems to rhyme. Overall, this is a good story that I think girls ages eight to ten would probably really enjoy.
