This book was really cool. It is incredible how many words are put together to make new ones. Like who in the world thought that a butterfly reminded them of butter and a fly? Or is a hedgehog named that because its spines look like a hedge on top of a small hog? This is a fun book for younger readers learning about nouns.
At first, it took some time to think of some compound nouns to introduce this book to my sister. However, after reading it, we went on our own treasure hunt to find more compound nouns. My favorite illustration in the book was the shadow of the dragonfly that looked exactly like a dragon. We will definitely check out the rest of the series for my little sister.
