The Bus Ride
This book is about a girl having an adventure on the bus. I like the way the illustrator made the trees because she made the circle background color of where the leaves grow as light green and she made the leaves dark green. She made little lines on the trunk of the tree to represent the tree bark. The drawings look like they were done with colored pencils in earthy colors. I felt happy that the girl, Clara, was always happy throughout the book. I thought it was funny that animals were characters on the bus. This book is an English translation of a book that was originally published in French. Each page has zero to one line of text and is easy to read. There are not a lot of descriptions in this book. I looked at the pictures carefully after reading the words on the pages to make sense of the story. This book would be appropriate for ages four and up. I would not be scared to ride a bus after I read this book because the Clara was brave enough to go on the bus and also made some new friends.
