The Brain is Kind of a Big Deal
The Brain is Kind of a Big Deal is such a fun book to learn more about how the human body works. The colorful illustrations and informative text help me to understand how hard my body works to do simple things like turn the page of a book or breathe. It is amazing to learn how the brain controls our entire body and works with the five senses to better know the world around us. The book helped me to learn about voluntary vs. involuntary movements. My favorite part of the book is how the body reacts so quickly to a paper cut. It is a complicated process once the book shows how it is broken down step by step. I never knew how the body reacted when injured and the brain even signals the eyes to cry when hurt. The book has a glossary to learn many new words associated with how the brain communicates with the body. In the back of the book it also some fun fact pages about many different animals’ brains. I think this is a great book to use in the classroom or at home to help kids learn more about their body and why it is so important to rest and eat healthy to help your brain grow!
