The Boy, the Wolf, and the Stars by Shivaun Plozza is a magical story about a boy and his pet fox, who go on a quest to find the stars that the wolf ate. The moon ran away in fear because the wolf ate the stars. The Shadow Creatures came out to attack people in the utmost darkness. The boy’s dead guardian told him to go find the stars to defeat the evil.

The plot is great and it made sense. Any part with magic held my interest. I got to know the characters very well and liked them. They did seem real and were pretty lively. The language of the book flowed well and the dialogue was natural. I enjoyed reading it. There are no illustrations in the book, but I wish there were. I think kids aged ten and older who love adventure would really enjoy this book. It would possibly make a good series. I totally recommend this book because I loved it! It is a great book, although at the end the story got sad and then happy again.
