The Book of Living Secrets
“A BIT OF MADNESS IS KEY, TO GIVE US NEW COLORS TO SEE”-The Book of Living Secrets
Adele and Connie were planning to go to the dance but Connie has second thoughts. To make it up to her friend, she follows her to the Witch’s Eye Emporium where they are invited to a full moon event. While there, they find a way to travel into their favorite book. To both of their surprise it worked. Now they are separated in a story they thought they knew. They must find their way back to each other while navigating an uncertain and chilling world.
Madeline Roux’s The Book of Living Secrets is the type of book that will have you on the edge of your seat; and each chapter leaves you trying to connect the dots, to solve the plot. My only grievance with this fantastic book is that the character’s injuries are inconsistent. Besides that I have nothing bad to say, the writing was descriptive and imaginative, and the cast of characters was diverse. I would recommend this book to those who enjoy reading fantasy thrillers, and historical fantasy. I would recommend this book for ages twelve and up.
