The Boggart Fights Back
The Boggart Fights Back is a fun, magical adventure that tells the story of twins Allie and Jay visiting their grandfather in Scotland and about how they end up fighting along with their Boggart friends to stop the mean Mr. Frout, who wants to build a resort on their ancestor’s land. The twins are excited about visiting their grandfather, who is the caretaker of Castle Kepp, a small castle on a loch in Scotland. When they get there, the kids quickly figure out that Mr. Frout, a resort developer, has big plans to ruin the loch and turn it all into a resort. The kids decide to fight back and save the castle. Soon, they figure out that something magical surrounds the castle. The Boggarts are fun, magical creatures from Gaelic times and are invisible most times but can shapeshift. Together, the Boggarts and the twins have a magical adventure with lots of silly events along the way.
I loved this book because it played in Scotland, which I now want to visit really bad. I also liked the mischievous Boggarts and the tricks they played. Another feature I liked was the Gaelic words in the book. I would recommend this book for ages eight and up!
