The Berenstain Bears: Thanksgiving All Around

This book was all about the signs that Thanksgiving is getting closer. The Bear Family goes on a walk looking for the Thanksgiving turkey. They look all around – in the farmyard, by the pond, even in the pumpkin patch. They see falling leaves, Mrs. Ben’s pumpkin pie, bears picking apples, and geese flying south. They finally find the turkey and know that Thanksgiving is almost here.

My favorite part of this book was the lift-the-flaps on every page. It was fun to see what was hiding behind every flap. I loved the picture of the turkey with his tail feathers spread out. We learned that turkeys do this to attract the girl turkeys! We also learned that wild turkeys use their tail feathers to help them steer when they are flying. I liked this book and would recommend it to all of my friends. I think everyone would like it, especially if you like The Berenstain Bears or Thanksgiving. I like Thanksgiving, but I don’t like eating turkey. I was happy they didn’t cook the Thanksgiving turkey when they found him.
